Good site for rock history

I'm still searching the net to make sure what I research and post is worthwhile and not just a regurgitation of some other blog. While looking a found a site with some good information, not really based as much on genealogy as I plan to do, but has some of the same information.

It's written by a professor so ignore his bio (a little pompous) and just read the reviews. I checked out his information on the Byrds and it was pretty good. He also has a list of the rock albums he rates as the best of all time. While I bought it in 1970, and always enjoyed it, I'm not sure if Captain Beefheart's Trout Mask Replica is really the best of all time. He gives his reasons in an interesting form, while I'm one who doesn't know music, but do know what I like. Check him out at www.scaruffi.com.

What's it all about?

The purpose of this blog is to examine all the interrelationships between rock artists and rock groups. I plan to start in the 50's and work my way forward, with a heavy emphasis on the 60's (so I'm a boomer). I'll use personal knowledge, books, sites like wikipedia, and, hopefully, input from anyone who reads the blog.

I have no idea how much time I'll have to devote to this at first, so please try viewing the blog later and see what, if anything I've accomplished. On a personal note, I'm a t3 rectal cancer survivor and begin 4 nonths of chemotherapy tomorrow (11/28/07), and may occasionally give a pitch on getting a colonoscopy at age 50 (I didn't and I'm 58 and should have earlier if my insurance would have allowed it, a story I may get into later). I may even explain my love of parenthesis.
